I'm calling today my red day! I've come back to Davidson to get my hair taken care of- ie - new red on my roots! It has been a day of planned meetings and surprises. Lunch at The Egg with Betsy, lots of catching up and an overdue present exchange.Surprises at the nail salon - running into Madeline, just returned from South Africa, and Margo Williams. Madeline said she knew she would run into me there! What a treat to hear about her semester abroad and the likelihood that she and others will be in HH for the 4th! Finishing of the day with Jean and dinner at Solstace. We had a delicious meal and wonderful conversation. She is sending me back with a container of cookies and a bag of beans and the promise that I won't eat the cookies but that I will cook and eat the beans!

I guess what is most surprising about today is that I realized how strange it is to feel so comfortable being in Hilton Head and how right it is to be in Davidson. It is a real challenge to say out loud that I'm living and working in HH. I really don't want my friends to know that I'm not here in Davidson. It's easier that we are just thinking that the hectics of everyday life is keeping us from seeing each other.

I have arrived!

On 6/3/08, I officially moved to the beach!
